Help with Tibah

Answers to the common questions. If yours isn’t here, email and you’ll hear back from the person who made it.

How do I unlock my apps?

Finish the habits that gate a group, then hold its unlock control on the Today screen. The apps open for the time you’ve set in Setup → Unlock length, then lock again until midnight.

I really need an app now. What do I do?

Tap the lifebuoy at the top of Today. Choose how long, hold, and confirm. Everything opens for that time and locks again by itself, even if Tibah is closed. It costs stamps: one for every five minutes, twenty for the rest of the day.

Why does Tibah need Screen Time?

Screen Time is Apple’s only way for an app to lock other apps. Tibah never sees which apps you picked or how you use them; Apple only gives it a sealed token for each.

A Health habit isn’t counting.

Check that Tibah can read that data: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Tibah. Health can’t be read while your iPhone is locked, so a habit may update a moment after you open Tibah. You can always add minutes by hand by swiping the habit.

Can a widget show a different group?

Yes. Touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, and choose a group. You can add one widget per group.

How do I move Tibah to a new iPhone?

On the old phone, open Setup → Backup → Export everything and save the file to iCloud Drive. On the new one, install Tibah, then Setup → Backup → Restore from a backup. Screen Time app choices can’t travel between phones, so pick each group’s apps again after restoring.

How do I stop Tibah locking apps?

Open Setup and remove the apps from a group, or turn off Tibah under Settings → Screen Time. Deleting Tibah also removes every lock it set.
